A mobile app in development to help families discover parks and playgrounds, compare community reviews and plan their next visit.
About the project
Find outdoor spaces that suit your family, from nearby playgrounds to parks with accessible facilities. PlaySafe Parks brings maps, practical park information and community feedback together in one place.
What it includes
- Explore parks on a map, search by name or suburb, and filter by distance, amenities, accessibility, activities and park vibe.
- Read and contribute reviews covering condition, safety, shade, cleanliness, visibility, and parent and child ratings. Community feedback is not a safety certification.
- Save favourite parks, record visits and open directions in your maps app.
- Suggest parks and submit reviews for approval, with community contributions helping build the directory.
- Connect with friends through requests and QR codes, and see their recent park check-ins.
Current progress
The local development app includes map discovery, location-based distances, database-backed parks, reviews, favourites and check-ins, plus friend request and activity screens. It remains a work in progress; these features are not a claim of a public release.
Built with
React Native, Expo and TypeScript, with Supabase for authentication and data.
